Synopsis pt. 2

Elena in the graveyard.

Hey! Here's the second part of the book's synopsis.

Where we last left off, Elena was marching off to face Damon. She was successful at summoning him. He appears, and they talk. He wants to turn her into a vampire, but she knows he is nothing but evil and refuses. He becomes enraged and leaves, promising she will be his by the first snow of winter.

When Elena returns to her house, she talks Bonnie and Meredith into helping her find Stefan. They use Bonnie's Psychic powers to find him. He was thrown into a well. They save him and take him to his house.

Elena barely manages to stop the girl's from taking him to a hospital, which would show what he really was.

When Elena returns to school, she is greeted by silence. Everyone believes Stefan is the murder, and she is being shunned for dating him. Still, she refuses to break up with him. Another surprise awaits her at school. They have a new teacher to replace Mr. Tanner. Alaric K. Saltzman immediately starts off the class by having everyone talk about Mr. Tanner's death, and then invites (and demands everybody to come) to a party at his house.

At the party, Stefan and Elena see Damon. Stefan and Damon get into a bit of argument, causing Elena and Stefan to leave. The incident appeared odd to Elena's friends, who demand answers. Elena explains, leaving out the supernatural, that she and Stefan know that Damon has been committing the murders.

The next day, Vickie returns to school. She is acting odd, which is because she is partly under Damon's control.

Sometime later, Elena spends the night at Bonnie's house, and is attacked by Damon. She freaks out and demands to go home.

Later, Stefan appears with vervain, a plant that will protect her mind from mind control. she doesn't tell him about the attack, not wanting to worry him.

Elena eventually realizes Caroline was the one who stole her diary. Caroline and Tyler planned on using evidence in her diary to convince the town Stefan is the murderer. Tyler hopes the town will turn into a mob and kill him. The girl's break into Caroline's house to find Elena's diary, but fails to. Yet, Elena does have another encounter with Damon there. He offers to help. For a price, of course.

Her refusal angers him. He responds by tricking Elena's aunt and soon-to-be uncle into inviting him over for dinner. He can now go into her house when ever he pleases.

That night, Damon comes. He threatens Elena's little sister, so Elena willingly let's him drink her blood.

Time passes, and Elena is becoming frantic. The Founders' Day celebration is approaching, and she still doesn't have her diary. When the day arrives, she is stunned when Caroline's and Tyler's plans are foiled at the last second. Damon of all people saved them. He did it for his own purposes of course, but still, they were saved.

Their happiness won't last long. Elena is attacked by an unknown force, and appears to drown to death. Stefan blames Damon, and he marches off to fight to the death with him. This is where the second book ends.
